Getting Used to Online Blackjack
Some players I knew experienced difficulties when playing online Blackjack. The cause of these difficulties is the fact that they have been playing Blackjack at casino Blackjack tables for years, and getting used to online Blackjack is quite difficult to do. Online Blackjack is in many ways similar to brick and mortar version of the game, but the nature of playing Blackjack online is slightly different.
Other than possible rule variations used in online Blackjack games, the way online platforms handle decks is quite different. Professional or simulated online Blackjack tables might use the normal 2,4, 6, or 8 decks algorithm — just like in real Blackjack tables — but most of the available online Blackjack tables use a single deck that is continuously shuffled at the end of every round. For people playing brick and mortar Blackjack, this is very unacceptable; it increases the house advantage greatly and prevents players from using card counting methods.
Other difference in nature is the way players interact with each other. In brick and mortar Blackjack tables, players make their moves according to a predefined order. In some of the available online platforms, on the other hand, players can make their moves simultaneously for faster pace. You don’t get to observe opponents’ actions before making your own move.
One last thing that I need to remind you about online Blackjack is the pace of this game when played online. You will have to adapt to a faster playing pace to be able to play online Blackjack comfortably.
